July 10, 1938 - Miami Drive-in Theatre Flyer

The Miami Drive-in Theatre located in of course, Miami, FL - opened on February 25, 1938.  It was Florida's first drive-in theater.  This flyer is for the movies showing the week of July 10, 1938.  Only 25¢ per person with children under 12 FREE!  As you can see, owners of even the early drive-in theaters saw the value of letting younger children in free as a way to get the parents out to their theaters more often.  "No Babysitter Costs," was an early drive-in gimmick that would really catch on in the 1950's.
